PSL was established in 1990 as a joint initiative between the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI)) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) as a self-financing not-for-profit organisation. PSL provides practical guidance to help organisations in both the public and private sectors to build effective business relationships using a collaborative approach based on extensive knowledge gained from industry, Government and academia. PSL’s unique CRAFT methodology provides a framework for business relationship management now adopted by the British Standards Institution (BSI) as the foundation for the world’s first Standard for Collaborative Business Relationships known as PAS 11000, first published in November 2006.
